Convenience stores adding CBD inventory despite pandemic

Convenience stores added CBD products to their inventories last month even as the coronavirus pandemic depressed sales, retailing analysts say.

Convenience chains Circle K and Yesway added CBD products to shelves in March, according to CSP Daily News, which covers convenience store business.

Circle K, a division of Laval, Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., started carrying CBD gummies, tinctures and topicals by Ignite International Brands in some 400 stores in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, the news site reported.

Also in March, Yesway stores of West Des Moines, Iowa, partnered with CBD distribution firm Betterment Retail Solutions to add 17 CBD products across six brands, the site reported. Brands include:

  • CBD Living
  • Eco Sciences
  • Apis Mercantile
  • Cannadips

The CBD additions come despite falling in-person retail sales for CBD products, the site reported.
