CV Sciences strikes new distribution agreement with GNC Stores

California CBD maker CV Sciences has added 770 new stores nationwide to its distribution network after signing a new agreement with GNC, a Pittsburgh-based health and wellness retailer.

Beginning early this year, consumers will be able to purchase CV Sciences’ +PlusCBD brand ingestible products in GNC stores across the country.

The initial product assortment available in GNC stores includes extra strength gummies, softgels and tinctures, along with sleep gummies and calm gummies.

CV Sciences CEO Joseph Dowling said the company views its new partnership with GNC as “a major milestone” in its distribution expansion strategy.

“This agreement is also a positive reflection of the favorable regulatory momentum that is starting to build following the recent passage of AB 45 in California, which should serve as a framework for responsible CBD legislation in other states and eventually at the federal level,” Dowling said in a statement.

CV Sciences, which trades on the over-the-counter markets under the ticker symbol CVSI, sewed up early distribution of its products in major retailers in 2019, including Kroger Co. and CVS Pharmacy, and since then has continued to expand to other chains such as Harris Teeter and The Vitamin Shoppe.
