Charlotte’s Web Holdings is adding a former chief financial officer from Canopy Growth Corp. to its board of directors.
In his time as Canopy’s CFO, Tim Saunders steered Canopy’s public uplisting to the Toronto Stock Exchange, and subsequently to the New York Stock Exchange.
Saunders also oversaw 31 acquisitions and more than 6.4 billion Canadian dollars ($5.2 billion) in financings.
Most recently Saunders was CFO for Collective Growth Corp., a hemp-focused SPAC (special purpose acquisition company).
Charlotte’s Web CEO Deanie Elsner said in a statement that Saunders was recruited in part because of his “tremendous Canadian experience and networks.”
“Charlotte’s Web has disclosed its intent to expand into Canada, Israel, Europe and the UK, where Tim has valuable strategic and regulatory insight,” she said.
Saunders brings the number of Charlotte’s Web directors to six.
Charlotte’s Web trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange as CWEB. Canopy shares trade as WEED on the Toronto Stock Exchange and CGC on the Nasdaq exchange.
