Neptune hires new CFO, gains government approvals to make hand sanitizer

Neptune Wellness Solutions has appointed a new chief financial officer, Toni Rinow.

Rinow has 20 years of business experience and is “well known for accelerating revenue streams through acquisitions, corporate development, sales and marketing, and financing,” the company said in its announcement Wednesday, the day Rinow started her new role.

The company’s announcement Wednesday came days after the company gained authorization from Health Canada and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to commercialize natural, plant-based hand sanitizer products.

Neptune is among several CBD manufacturers pivoting to make products to help during the coronavirus pandemic. Some are converting their operations to make hand sanitizers for medical workers and public safety officials.

Neptune Wellness Solutions has production facilities in Canada and the U.S., and trades as NEPT on the Nasdaq and the Toronto Stock Exchange.
